An Evaluation 50 Years Later

Bishop Donal Murray       Dr Andrew Pierce

Each will talk about the reception of The Second Vatican Council and the effect it had in the various traditions.

Bishop Donal Murray will reflect on the legacy of Vatican II.

Bishop Murray lectured in Moral Theology in Mater Dei Institute and in Holy Cross College from 1969 to 1982. He was Auxiliary Bishop of Dublin from 1982 to 1996 and then Bishop of Limerick until 2009. He is now retired.
Bishop Donal has recently published;
Keeping Open the Door of Faith: The Legacy of Vatican II (Veritas 2012)

Dr Andrew Pierce will consider
the impact of the Council on other Churches

Dr Pierce is an Assistant Professor at the Irish School of Ecumenics, Trinity College Dublin. In 2009, he was appointed as a member of, and consultant to, the International Anglican Standing Commission on Unity, Faith and Order (IASCUFO). Dr. Pierce is currently serving as President of Societas Oecumenica, the European Association for Ecumenical Research.
