Midsummer Reflections




A) Embryology and Law Reform

The Commission on Assisted Human Reproduction has brought to public awareness crucial legal and moral questions regarding assisted reproduction: Addressing its recommendations.
An opportunity for participants to present their distinctive theological questions and insights


B) Welcoming the Stranger into out Culture

Reflecting together on welcoming the stranger into our community and into our culture.


C) Women in Ministry in the Churches

Looking at the ministry of women and what, if any, particular impact this has in the life of Christian communities.


D) Is that All?

Following the Gospel in a consumerist society.
Reflecting on the spiritual state of the nation in the context of scripture and the signs of the times.




Claire Jackson

Clair is a barrister and part-time member of the Law Departments at UCC and Trinity College


Stephen Cummins & Friends from Cois Tinne

Stephen works with asylum seekers and migrant workers in the East Cork area. He previously worked in South Africa.


Geraldine Gracie & Bride Given

Geraldine is a Methodist Minister with responsibility for Kinsale. She is on the ecumenical standing committee for the Cork area.
Bride is a Presentation Sister and is a member of the UCC Chaplaincy team.


Tom Riordan

Tom is Parish Priest in Kilbrittain.

                   Introduction of topic by Leader & General discussion


9.15                                 Soft drinks, wine, snacks chat (Outdoors, weather permitting)

                   Bring your own summer delicacies / favourite foods, wine.
                   Tea, coffee, some snacks and some wine included. 


9.30                 Guided tour of  Cathedral Available
