Lent as Grace

Gift & Cost

Right Reverend Michael Burrows

Bishop of Cashel & Ossory

Michael began his ministry, in Cork, as a curate in Douglas parish.

He later became Church of Ireland Chaplain of Trinity College, Dublin.

He returned to county Cork as Rector of Bandon and later moved back to the city as Dean of St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral.

He was elected Bishop of Cashel and Ossory in 2006.

Bishop Burrows will talk on grace as gift and grace as cost, with particular reference to our Lenten pilgrimage, discipline and devotion.

Do we tend to see Lent as little more than a formality to be observed?

How do we use, absorb and assimilate the notion of grace in our liturgy, theology and spirituality as we journey through Lent towards Easter?
